When You’re Strange a Film About The Doors (Eagle Vision)

When You’re Strange
is a great documentary about The Doors. With each passing year, The Doors’ legend continuously grows, and new generations are fascinated with the band. There are many books about The Doors, and the band continues to release live recordings. There is no doubt the demand for The Doors is still very strong.

This documentary is very well put together; it creates a clear picture of what the band was like, and what drove them. Of course Jim Morrison takes the center stage, but you knew that without me telling you, right? Johnny Depp narrates the film bringing another star component to the picture.

Upon watching this film, one can’t help to spot how innocent the times were in which The Doors started to operate. It is also very visible how those times began to change, and mutate into what we know now. And The Doors’ music was the soundtrack to it all. One cannot deny the strong influence of The Doors. It’s a cultural phenomenon much like The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. Only there is something unquestionably mystical and spiritual about The Doors that hasn’t surfaced since that band ceased to exist in its original incarnation.

When You’re Strange is a great DVD about The Doors. It is very well put together with many artistic components not seen in other documentaries of this type.
