Jane's Addiction - Live Voodoo (Eagle Vision)
Jane's Addiction and Halloween is an ideal mix. This is not the first time the band is playing an exclusive Halloween show. On top of it, it's from New Orleans. When it comes to creating the right mood Jane's Addiction just knows to accomplish it.
"Live Voodoo" catches the re-formed band in 2009. This is still the original four piece, shortly after bassist, Eric Avery, left the band again. The show begins with vocalist, Perry Farrell, coming on stage looking like a one of the characters from Star Trek, or so. But it's Halloween after all, and everything is allowed that night. Soon, he goes back to being his regular self. The band is playing great, and they concentrate mostly on the songs from the first two albums. The public knows what they are getting, and there are no surprises here. The delivery is electrifying, and within minutes you see what made this band so great and appealing in the early 90s. Every song on this DVD is very memorable, and if you're old enough you have some personal experiences tied up to one or two of these tracks.
Jane's Addiction may not be breaking any new barriers with newer material, nor does it appears they are writing any, but these classic tracks will rock the house at any time of the year. Jane's Addiction is as always powerful, exotic, and immensely addictive.
