Native Window (Star City Recordings) ****

Native Window is Kansas minus Steve Walsh. The band retains some of Kansas’ sound and trademarks, but at the same time has a strong identity of its own. Billy Greer is the voice of Native Window. Greer’s vocals are very distinctive and instantly recognizable. In many ways, he is the band’s secret weapon.

Native Window can be classified as a melodic rock band. The songs are catchy and memorable. After few listens you will find yourself humming along or even singing. And it’s really difficult to put this record down once you start playing it.

Native Window is a band made up of professionals. Their experience shows in the songwriting. Rich musical structures with soaring vocals are the calling card here. With the help of the outside writers this record is beautifully crafted. It all works out for the band at the end of the day. Native Window is a project that easily breaths on its own. I can’t wait to see these songs performed live.
