The Raconteurs - Live at Montreux 2008 (Eagle Eye Media)

Over the years the Montreux Jazz Festival became a place to play. And just about everyone, big or small, plays there. Immortalized by Deep Purple's "smoke on The Water," the "funky" Claude Nobs continues well into the 4th decade.

The Raconteurs are the perfect band to play such event. And up and coming band, made up of some happening names, just having fun, and playing music. Some may even call this venture a super-group, but the band themselves just lets the music do the talking.

This show catches The Raconteurs promoting their second album "Consolers Of The Lonely." The band comes on very strong, and delivers a very rough show. Some great guitar licks from Jack White and Brendan Benson. There is a very positive vibe on stage, and it spills into the audience. Another great rock band doing what they do best.

And now with the members of The Raconteurs doing other things, this may be the only way to experience the band live until they decide to plug in as a unit again. The show is a great overview of what this band is all about, and as always backed up by the great atmosphere of Montreux production.
