Stone Axe - 2 Disc Expanded Edition (Ripple Music)
Stone Axe is a band who so deeply rooted in the 70s rock, yet they are a brand new group. This album originally came out in 2009. It's a great mix of variety of influences, from Black Sabbath to Thin Lizzy to The Faces. The band just goes full force and rocks hard. The songs vary in moods from track to tracks, making the album very diverse sounding. It's hard to believe a band like Stone Axe was able to camouflage itself in 2011, but it's extremely rewarding to hear the"guitar rock" torch is proudly passed on. Stone Axe is a band worthy of anyone's attention who enjoy uncompromising rock music with no additives. This reissue is quite fantastic. The audio disc comes with the album, and eight bonus live tracks. The second disc is a DVD. The DVD includes live performances, clips, interviews, radio appearances, and even an acoustic performance. It's great to actually see what the band looks and feels like in a live setting. The footage is about 74 minutes long, so it's not too long, but not too short either. Stone Axe reissue is truly a labor of love.
