Suzi Quatro - Main Attraction (7T's)

Suzi Quatro's back catalog is slowly making its way back onto the shelves of the record stores. And now with Quatro making a major comeback, the timing couldn't be better. "Main Attraction" was the last Suzi Quatro record in the 80s. Released in 1982 in the middle of the synthesizer-crazy new romantic movement. Needless to say, it was difficult for a performer like Quatro to compete with the likes of Eurythmics, or Soft Cell, although "Candy Man" is a nice gesture in that direction. The record however is a very spicy one. It shows Quatro branching out into variety of styles, but rock still appears to be her calling card.

"Main Attraction" varies in tempos, the songs are nicely constructed. It shows an artist at the crossroads. While still trying to maintain her trademark sound, there is a definite attempt at having a go at the 80s. The results are quite impressive, but there is the question of the acceptance. The reissue comes with some very informative liner notes. The notes clear out a lot of unknown facts that took place around that time. Another great missing gem is finally back!
