Twisted Sister - Double Live (Eagle Vision)
Twister Sister is really enjoying multiple releases, re-masters, and what not. But there is no reason to complain, it's all good quality products. This DVD alone bring nearly 200 minutes of Twisted Sister. That's enough for any fan to stay "twisted" until the next release of course. This 2-DVD set is a combination of two shows, and two different eras as well.
The first disc shows Twisted Sister playing New York's North Stage Theater in 1982. Still an up and coming band at the time, the group plays with excitement and enthusiasm. Two years later, they would dominate MTV, and metal charts. Here you seen them climbing up that ladder as a really hungry band. Seeing this historic performance one can't help but admire the determination while enjoying the process.
The second disc shows the band 19 years later in 2001. During this time, the band managed to go through all the ups and down of rock'n'roll, only to break up at the end. Here we have a freshly reformed band; rocking hard. The 2001 performance, coincidentally enough from New York shows the band full of experience and wisdom. The show however has a very serious mood, it was a benefit concert for New York Police & Fire Widows after the recent 9/11 terrorist attacks. A very worthy cause for the band to reunite and support.
"Double Live" has a lot going for it. It's not just another release, but a very spectacular set. The combination of the old and the new is a winning one. Also, the band's decision to reform in such crucial times speaks volumes. Absolute thumbs up!
