Twisted Sister - Live at Wacken-The Reunion (Eagle Vision)
Wacken Festival in Germany is where a lot of miracles, and great performances take place. The recently established giant of a festival attracts acts that are active, and the ones who are defunct, but reunite for a couple of performances.
It took Twisted Sister a while to put their differences aside and become a band again. But once they did, the end effect was quite impressive. Always an intense live act, Twisted Sister continues to be as good as they always were. The band never lost their great stage presence, and this DVD attests to that.
The DVD looks at the entire reunion process, and some historic aspects of Twisted Sister. It is very revealing in many ways, but done in a very good taste. The energy and the enthusiasm is still there. Dee Snider is still very charismatic, and exciting to listen and watch. But it's a true band effort, every member of this band has a job to do, and it's the combination of these jobs that makes the whole process so incredibly vital.
In addition to a DVD, the set includes a CD. The CD includes parts of the Wacken performance, but it gets very retrospective as well. There is a portion of live recordings dating back to 1980, and 1982. The contrast is very interesting because there really isn't one. The band is on and kicking your behind whether it's 2003, 1980, or 1982. The only difference is the way it is produced and mixed, but the spirit is there. A fantastic set by a band not afraid to create their own style, and now living up to their legacy.
