England’s UFO early 80s records are finally making it onto CD. Apart from the Japanese releases, this material was hard to find. No Place To Run, The Wild, the Willing, and the Innocent, and Mechanix are back in circulation, and they’re back in style. Much like the early Schenker era albums, each release comes in a re-mastered format. Every album includes bonus tracks, mostly live recording, and some alternative versions. The booklets are done beautifully. Each booklet contains detailed liner notes and pictures, and even some magazine clippings from the time the album was originally released. This was a labor of love for everyone involved. The three releases represent the so called Chapman era, which in the long run was not as popular, but equally as impressive. In fact, there is a big number of fans who prefer this version of UFO best. Let’s hope Making Contact will get the same treatment, and complete the cycle.
