Velvet Revolver - Live in Houston (Eagle Vision)

This DVD can certainly be considered historic. Band's front man, Scott Weiland, is no longer with the band. At the time of the performance Velvet Revolver was still a hot commodity. The combination of GNR's instrumentalists, and STP's singer was a very fruitful one. The only newcomer into the mix being of course Dave Kushner on guitar. Velvet Revolver's debut album was hot, and the show reflects how strong the material was. The band isn't staying away from playing songs they made popular with their former acts, and rightfully so.

The performance is charged, the band is definitely on. The crowd is clearly into the band as well. Rock music benefits when performed in venues where the band-audience interaction is possible. In fact, the crowd really takes it into another dimension.

While Velvet Revolver is looking and sounding great here, the band appears to be in limbo trying to attract a proper vocalist. "Live In Houston" is a historic document showing how two entities can come together and write some great songs, even if it's only for a short amount of time.
